  • Zenith of Devotion - Day 2

    Ma Gurupriya

In this discourse, Maa guides the listener how to incorporate, Bhagavatam in daily life. Listening to and contemplating on this supreme text, one can gain supreme knowledge and dispassion. She promises us that constant rememberance of Sri Krishna’s holy lotus feet destroys all evil tendencies of the mind, purifying the mind where knowledge starts to dawn. Bhagavatam urges us to become a better devotee, increase devotion and decrease worldliness, therby ensuring a mind full of festivity. Talking about herself, she recounts how her mind became Krishnamaya. She points out that a devotee must one-pointedly gain qualities of Viveka and Vairagya to constantly practice regulation of senses, choosing shreyas over preyas. Vairagya is not leaving anything outside but leaving possessiveness, ‘I’ness and attachment to wordly relationships and objects. It is emptying one’s mind every moment of the transitory world and its enticements and filling that mind space with dispassion and bhakti-nishtha. Maa tells us that though there is a lot of activity in the world, one can stabilise devotion in the midst of all activities, with the help of a guru. Thinking of the whole world as a temple of Lord and seeing Him everywhere, doing every activity through His command and for His pleasure, keeping attention at His holy lotus feet, our whole life gets divinised, and one experiences the amrit of this dhyana with every action and interaction. A feeling of supreme Bliss and Mahotsavam is experienced by the devotee constantly.
