The Philosophy of Adi Sankara

In this talk, Swamiji speaks about Adi Shankara’s life. Vedantic knowledge has surfaced everytime and subdued all other systems of thought and triumphed over them, right from the Ramayana and Mahabharata times. With dedication, Shankara began propagating and disseminating the Upanishadic wisdom bringing forth the supremacy of the parmatma tattva.

Whatever literature we read– Upanishads, Vedanta and Vedantic truths etc.–, are only on the basis of what Shankara has revealed. Shankara says that one must reject all that is not experiential and hold on to whatever is experiential. This kind of a reasoning takes you to its own natural climax.

Shankara would like us to be discreet and discriminating in the matter of understanding life, understanding the world and choosing our objective, making sure that we don’t miss the truth and we don’t miss the chance of fulfilling our life as human.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:
Nana matam maharshinaam siddhaanam yoginam tatha.
Srutva nirvedam-apannah ko na saamyathi manavah..
