In this talk, Swamiji discusses spirituality and meditation. The human body is an instrument in the hands of the mind and intelligence. Because our mind, intelligence and ego are spiritual, spirituality becomes an indispensable subject for everyone. Spirituality is the science and art of enriching, empowering, elevating and expanding one’s own mind and intelligence.

The purpose of meditation, and its allied practices, is to understand the mind and intelligence and make it better, make the intelligence do its task of introspection, and through introspection set right all problems of the mind and find solutions for all. When introspection deals with the mind, with a view to dissolve the problems, then it becomes a sadhana.

The highest form of human austerity is Truthful Introspection or infusional introspection. The purpose is to infuse into oneself qualities related to attitudes, responses and performance. One must have the quality of exclusiveness and dedication to every task that has to be performed. One must be loving, considerate and sacrificing for the sake of others. One must be free of the sense of doership, pride and ego. In the intelligence level, one must have clarity of understanding, wisdom. Spiritual pursuit is where one constantly strives to enrich the mind and intelligence.
