Prabhata Rashmih - Nurturing Good Qualities

Qualities of a Knower

Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

  • Qualities of a Knower

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Poojya Swamiji explains the difference between pratyaksha (directly perceptible to the senses) and paroksha (inferential). Then he goes on to explain how we need to expand our mind so that we can embrace the entire world and not just the immediate family. With this expansion, the mind becomes pure, and the seeker starts gaining the qualities of a knower, a mahatma. That leads to the transcendental experience.

Slokas chanted in the track:

(Timestamp: 00:03:48)
निरस्तरागा विनिरस्तभोगाः शान्ताः सुदान्ता यतयो महान्तः ।
विज्ञाय तत्त्वं परमेतदन्ते प्राप्ताः परां निर्वृतिमात्मयोगात् ॥

nirasta-rāgā vinirasta-bhogāh śāntāh sudāntā yatayo mahāntah ।
vijnāya tattvam parametad-ante prāptāh parām nirvṛtim-ātmayogāt ॥
