In this Satsang, Swamiji emphasizes that the Bhagavad Gita is not a religious text. It was revealed in the battlefield of Kurukshetra, where Arjuna, despite 13 years of preparation for the war, was overpowered by grief, doubt, fear, and delusion. Confronted by his own kith and kin in the opposing army, his mind crumbled, and his intelligence believed that it was a sinful war.

When Sri Krishna admonished him for his unmanliness and mental weakness, Arjuna confessed his narrowmindedness and asked to be instructed on the path of Shreyas (Supreme felicity).

The dialogue began with Krishna imparting the truth about the Soul. Spiritually wise and enlightened people do not grieve for the living or the dead. They do not undergo any undue anxiety or grief when life forces depart from the body, knowing that the Self is ever-present, eternal.

How to understand death? Death is a transformation and it relates only to the body. From birth onward, the body passes through various stages and eventually ceases to function—but the Self remains unchanging.

Swamiji emphasizes that every word of Bhagavad Gita is to be experienced, to be known. When this knowledge is applied in all aspects of life, life becomes fulfilled, joyful. Through the Bhagavad Gita dialogue, Sri Krishna succeeded in infusing strength, clarity, and courage in Arjuna.

Shlokas chanted in the Satsang:
