What is the Sadhana of a Seeker? Knowing that raga-dvesha are the stark enemies, seekers must restrain the mind and grow in saattvika qualities. By this, one attains placidity of mind and the intelligence becomes poised and steady. Performing all activities—domestic, social, or spiritual—with detachment and surrender leads to inner peace. By remembering the Divine in every action, one becomes nitya-yukta, ever-connected.

Sri Krishna says that the Lord dwells in the heart of all beings. By his inscrutable power, he makes everyone whirl around like machines. A seeker must keep a constant connection with the indwelling Lord, with the deep understanding that it is He who animates and activates everything in the Universe, including the body-mind personality; everything belongs to the Supreme.

Ma shares that Swamiji has always taught that by loving noble qualities, one acquires them. The most important sadhana is to grow in virtues and eliminate negative traits. He always urges seekers to embody noble qualities like universal love, forgiveness, and sacrifice and being free of ill will, blame, and judgment.

Ma shares her own experiences and reflections as a seeker and explains that the journey of self-purification is unending. One must always observe one’s own reactions, motivations, thoughts and strive for humility, ego-effacement. Seekers must be alert to detect and eliminate notes of raga-dvesha, possessiveness, clinging, and doership from their personality.
