An interactive session with students of DBMS School, Jamshedpur on 22 November 2024 at CIRD Jamshedpur during the Annual Jamshedpur Jnana Yajna 2024.

In this address to high school students, Swamiji stressed on the importance of harnessing, enriching, nourishing, and refining the mind and intelligence. When the mind is made strong and flexible, one can live and work in the world assimilating all interactional impacts.

He pointed out that acquiring and utilizing knowledge is the sole distinction of human life. A student should study not merely to excel in examinations but to genuinely acquire knowledge, for it alone nourishes and enriches the mind and intelligence. Intelligence, integrity, and industry (hard work, perseverance) need to become the three guiding watchwords in every stage of life. Qualities like non-hurting, truthfulness, non-stealing, cleanliness, perseverance, will power, courage must be cultivated to strengthen and nourish the mind.

Swamiji urged the students to spend 20 minutes every day to sit in a place observing the thoughts arising in the mind and also encouraged them to frequently reflect on the ‘I’ (the Self-the unchanging, eternal, inner presence.) In conclusion, he exhorted the students to have a national and global dimension and make meaningful contributions to the nation and the globe.
