Jamshedpur Sadhana Shibiram 2023
The Bhagavad Gita dialogue took place in the battlefield of Kurukshetra just before the commencement of war and not in a peaceful hermitage. This is ample proof that the Bhagavad Gita Sadhana is an all-time Sadhana, which can be practiced by anyone, in any field of activity, at any time.
The goal of meditation is to realize the Self. Bhagavad Gita urges us to establish the Self dimensions (universality, unaffectedness, impersonality, impartiality, expansiveness etc.) in active life also. Instead of abandoning activities, a seeker must make activity an instrument for liberation, by doing
every activity with a Yoga attitude. The seeker must take refuge in Yoga-buddhi, whereby the intelligence is anchored in the Supreme Reality.
Normally, one does work motivated by desires. Knowing that desires are the cause of stress and that the elimination of desires alone brings freedom from stress, wise people abandon the subjective, inner results of the action (phala-tyaga). By this, they transcend all bondage and become fulfilled.
The intelligence, mind, and senses are under the sway of attractions and repulsions (raga-dvesha) towards world objects and situations. This slavery leads to suffering and stress. But when the intelligence (buddhi) is anchored in the Self, then it will be able to purify the mind and the mind will be able to guide the senses in the right direction. Swamiji explains that this integration of personality helps a seeker to gain mastery over the world.
