When a seeker is in association with a Sadguru, he is led to the eternal Truth. In his book ‘My Beloved Baba’, Swamiji writes about his association with Baba (his Guru), receiving initiation from him and the subsequent experiences. In this Satsang, Ma reads and explains the portion where Swamiji writes about reading the Mundaka Upanishad and the progressive clarity he had regarding the spiritual pursuit and the realization.
In the Upanishad, the sage does not refer to any ritualistic practices. The emphasis is on a deep pursuit in which truth (Satya), austerity, comprehensive wisdom (Samyak Jnana), and brahmacharya become the constant focus.
Baba clarified that truthfulness means dropping all worldliness, clinging to worldly objects. The mind must begin to cling to Brahman alone. Truth becomes a full spiritual discipline, urging the seeker to watch his mind constantly and to remove the tendency of clinging to worldliness. Samyak Jnana is when the Jeeva, the indwelling consciousness in everybody is realized as the Supreme Reality/Brahman.
Describing ‘Brahmacharya’, Baba said that a ‘Brahmachari’ is one who lives and moves in Brahman alone. The entire universe shines before him as Brahman alone. The body will continue to live and interact in the world, but a Braahmic vision will fill the buddhi. Ma emphasizes that such a jeevanmukta (knower) lives identified with the eternal reality. The man of realization remains serene in all situations, perceiving the Brahman alone in the world.
