In this Satsang, Swamiji continues to discuss the process of meditation. Meditation is a mento-intellectual pursuit, where the seeker reforms and refines the mind and intelligence, makes them lighter and subtler and finally reaches the state where the mental and intellectual processes cease. By this process, he reaches the source of the mind and the intelligence. When the contemplation on the Brahman persists without any change, and finally drops off, it results in complete silence.

In his Aparokshanubhutih, Shankaracharya gives a 15 limbed Sadhana for a seeker to practice and perfect. By this inner Yoga practice, the seeker will be able to remain connected to the Self. The focus of this Raja Yoga is the mind and the intelligence and it is sure to take the seeker to his goal. When his mind is devoted to his Guru and to God, this process becomes easier.

In the sixth chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, Sri Krishna gives instructions for the pursuit of Yoga. With a peaceful mind, being free of fear, practicing celibacy, regulating the fickle mind, considering his Guru as the sole refuge, a seeker must strive to unite the senses with the mind, mind with the intelligence, and the intelligence with the Self.

With this constant practice, a sincere and earnest seeker with a regulated mind, attains peace and Nirvana (release from the shackles of the mind and intelligence). The Guru is the source of this knowledge and he alone can guide a seeker to the Nirvana. By a diligent practice, a seeker attains to the Supreme state.

In this Yoga Sadhana, moderation is the keyword. A seeker must not have excessive eating habits. In the name of spirituality, he also should not take to starving. He must not sleep for an unduly long period of time, and he also should not remain wakeful for an unduly long period of time.
