Talk 4 of a 4 day lecture series by Ma Gurupriya ji during 2018 Jamshedpur Jnana Yajna .

Date: 21 February 2018
Venue: CIRD, Jamshedpur

In this talk, Ma outlines the practices that can help a Sadhaka remain blissful, fearless, stable minded, and unaffected under all circumstances. She reassures the listeners that it is possible to attain such a state.

What are the practices? A seeker must remind himself that life has a purpose and aim and he must constantly be aware that he is a spiritual seeker. A sense of blessedness and gratitude must fill his mind and he must constantly strive to feel the presence of the Lord within. There must be a deep yearning to be in close association with the Guru and a readiness to assimilate the knowledge imparted by him.

As seekers, we must ask questions and be introspective at every stage. Introspection will inspire us, instill enthusiasm, and lead us to purification and self improvement. As we engage ourselves in the worldly activities throughout the day, we must consciously and repeatedly remind ourselves that we are the Atma which is pure, unblemished, and unaffected.

The association with a Mahatma leads a seeker to liberation. Mahatmas are those who are endowed with forbearance, compassion, devotion, and contentment. Having one-pointed devotion to the Lord, they have taken wholesome refuge in the Lord. Attachment to such Mahatmas removes all other worldly attachment.

Melodiously chanting from Vivekachudamani, Srimad Bhagavatam, and Kaupina Panchakam, Ma drives home the message of dispassion, contentment, stability, and happiness that are the ultimate quest for any spiritual aspirant.
