Obeisance at Baba’s shrine on the occasion of Baba’s 132nd Jayanti (Feb 15)
Obeisance at Baba’s shrine on the occasion of Baba Gangadhara Paramahamsadeva’s 132nd Jayanti, was observed at Baba’s abode, Poornashram (Dakshinkhanda), on Feb 15, 2026, Mahashivaratri day, in the presence of Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji, Ma as well as other disciples, devotees and villagers. Devotees from different parts of India, Malaysia and USA gathered for the 3-day programme in Poornashram. Most of them were hosted in Bharat Sevashram Sangha (Bolpur), about 2-hours’ drive from Dakshinkhanda.
Poojya Swamiji accompanied by Ma Gurupriyaji, Ashramites and devotees from India and abroad arrived in Poornashram on Feb 06. Nutan Swamiji had already arrived in Poornashram on January 28, accompanied by Ashramites and devotees to oversee programme preparations as well as the essential construction related activities. One week of intensive satsang and Kathopanishad classes in Bengali with Nutan Swamiji generated a sublime spiritual atmosphere to welcome Poojya Swamiji and Ma.
Obeisance at Baba’s shrine on the occasion of Pāda-poojā took place on Feb 10 by Smt. Pratima Daan and Smt. Sujata Saha, both regular Poornashram satsang participants, performing Guru Archana on behalf of the assembled devotees.
In his benedictory address after Pāda-poojā, Poojya Swamiji recollected how he used to visit Poornashram and stay there for 2-3 days in the association of Baba: “The transformation that Baba brought about in me is indescribable. In those days, Baba used to stay in the long room of the older building, coming down only for taking bath and having meals. I used to sleep in the same room. Whenever I used to wake up, I found Baba in śīrṣāsana!”
Everybody went for bhakti-bhojan after receiving prasada from Swamiji. Around 250 devotees partook of bhakti-bhojan.
Intimate and insightful session during the A Rare day of Holy Association (Feb 13) – Programmes in Poornashram have always been necessarily in Bengali for the benefit of Dakshinkhanda villagers. This year, from the planning stage itself, Poojya Swamiji expressed several times that we must have at least one day Satsang in English language for over 100 non-Bengali devotees congregating from around the world for this auspicious programme.
Accordingly, Feb 13 was set aside to fulfil Swamiji’s wish. Nutan Swamiji and Ma suggested that rather than having a structured programme, the day should give everyone an intimate touch of spiritual association (Guru-sannidhi). Their saṅkalpa fructified and the whole day was filled with the rare association of Mahatmas, fulfilling every one’s heart.
Initially Poojya Swamiji, along with Nutan Swamiji and Ma, sat with everyone in the ground floor Mandapam. During pranams, Swamiji blessed each devotee individually. Then everyone followed Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji and Ma to Baba’s Shrine-room on the first floor. Time stood still as we listened to the nectarine words of Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji and Ma describing their intimate association with Baba.
The programme was to conclude with Bhakti-bhojan, but instead, a spontaneous shower of grace drenched everyone with Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji and Ma spending another 2-3 hours in the Mandapam with the devotees – a rare outpouring of inner revelations from the lives of Mahatmas.
Approximately 2000 poor families each received Dāna Satram (Feb 14): Many of the 2000 recipients from Dakshinkhanda and 26 surrounding villages had started queuing outside Poornashram from 5.00 am. A team of volunteers had worked dedicatedly to identify needy recipients and reach the tokens to them. All the preparations, including bringing and stacking the materials in the mandapam, were done the previous night itself.
The distribution started at 9.30 am and continued till 2.30 pm. Each recipient was given 1 kg of dal, a shataranchi (cotton mat) and sweet prasaada. Accompanying children also received chocolates and biscuit packets. Nāma-sankīrtana went on in the background unbrokenly. At the end of the dāna satram, Poojya Swamiji moving with Divine rhythm to the Nāma-sankīrtana led joyous devotees around the pandal. All were immersed in the devotional fervour.
Prabhat-pheri at dawn on Baba’s Jayanti day (Feb 15) Baba’s Jayanti (Feb 15): The much-awaited day for which all had gathered began with a ‘Prabhat-pheri’ (circumambulation within the village, with Nāma-sankīrtana). Brahmacharinis, devotees and villagers followed the vehicle carrying Baba’s photo around Dakshinkhanda village, joyfully chanting the Mahā-mantra, ‘Hare Rama Hare Krishna’.
The programme commenced with pranams to Baba and the Guru-paramparā in Baba’s Shrine room. Poojya Swamiji followed by Nutan Swamiji, Ma and Swami Sanghamitranandaji of Bharat Sevashram Sangha (Bolpur) offered flowers and pranams, and then proceeded to the pandal and lit the 3 traditional Kerala lamps placed in front of Baba’s portrait.
Then Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji and Ma spoke on their relationship and association with Baba, recounting various experiences from their lives. While Poojya Swamiji spoke in Bangla, Ma frequently translated parts of his speech into English for the sake of devotees who had come from around the world. After receiving prasadam, approximately 650 devotees were served bhakti-bhoj.
With Headmaster Sri Arindam Mishra, teachers and staff Visit to Gangatikuri school (AN Bidyamandir) on Feb 20. The school Headmaster Sri Arindam Mishra who had come to meet the Saints of Poornashram, requested Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji and Ma to visit his school.
At the school, a touching devotional welcome of ārati and tilak was offered to the invitees by teachers and staff. Sri Arindam Mishra and the teachers showed Swamijis their extensive library and other facilities, discussing the requirements of the 1200 students who mostly come from the surrounding villages.
550 children were lovingly fed luchi, aloo dam and boondi Special Anna-dāna for Children on Feb 22. During the Anna-dāna on Baba’s Jayanti, some children could not be served ‘luchi’ (poori) during the second serving. Hearing this incident pierced Poojya Swamiji’s heart deeply. Swamiji shed copious tears while narrating the incident during a review meeting. All felt sad, repentant and were wondering what should be done. A suggestion that the children should be specially invited and fed with care had an enthusiastic reception. Devotees went personally to all different localities in Dakshinkhanda and invited the children, narrating Swamiji’s sadness, requesting them to come.
On Feb 22, around 550 children were fed luchi, aloor dam and boondi (sweet). Poojya Swamiji and Ma were present to welcome the children. (Nutan Swamiji had already left for his Jamshedpur Sadhana Shibiram the day before). Poojya Swamiji lovingly spoke to many children, hugging them, blessing them. More than the children, it was the devotees and volunteers who were fulfilled by serving the children – some filling water cups, some serving food, some guiding them to the bathrooms, some even feeding toddlers. For everyone it was a direct experience of the transforming power of Saintly love.
