  • Paurusha - The Inherent Will and Power Within

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Moksha is that state of freedom that the mind and intelligence beget and enjoy and Bondage is shackles the mind experiences in the form of desires, attachment, doership or possessiveness. Whatever is being experienced in the form of suffering, one must be able to feel the opposite of it–Freedom.

Swamiji explains that Paurasha is the inherent power within every human being. The human mind has unlimited capacity. Everything in this world is attained by the right employment of Paurusha- the inherent will and wish that man has. The man who employs this Paurusha, goes wherever he wants, and attains whatever goal he wants to achieve.

Swamiji exhorts seekers to understand that the mind produces thoughts, and the same mind can also wipe out all thoughts (as it does every day at the end of the wakeful hours – in sleep). Therefore, every seeker must employ Paurusha and enrich and transform his/her own life.
