Chanting to Refine the Mind

  • Chanting to Refine the Mind

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

Swamiji, through this Prabhata Rashmih, tells us how our minds can become pure and sublime through Chanting. Recitation can be made most vibrant and effective when we give our hundred percent attention to the pronunciation, employing the tongue and ears so that the chanting is not mechanical. Mind and intelligence must be fully involved in the process whereby one connects to the import of each word, connects to the Lord Himself.

Swamiji urges seekers to let their voices be an offering to the Lord. While chanting, the vocal system is employed to chant, the ear is employed to hear it, the mind and intelligence are employed to associate the meaning of the words. Thus, the whole process will make the seeker wholesome, integrated, pure and sublime.

Shlokas chanted in the Track:

विश्वं विष्णुर्वषट्कारो भूतभव्यभवत्प्रभुः ।
भूतकृद्भूतभृद्भावो भूतात्मा भूतभावनः ।।
