Prabhata Rashmih - Meditation - The Purpose and the Process

Attentive Handling of the Mind during Meditation

  • Attentive Handling of the Mind during Meditation

This audio discusses the common problem of all spiritual aspirants–“Many thoughts come during meditation”.

Swamiji says that when the mind gets distracted or troubled by thoughts, one just has to delve into the mind, introspect. The thinking and distracted mind should be slowly led to non-thinking and non-distractedness. It should be led to its own itselfness.

Ask the mind to keep quiet and the mind will simply cooperate. Meditation is thus a very pleasant, sensitive and attentive handling of your mind, says Swamiji.

Shlokas chanted in the track:

यतो यतो निश्चरति मनश्चञ्चलमस्थिरम् ।
ततस्ततो नियम्यैतदात्मन्येव वशं नयेत् ।।

(Bhagavad Gita–6.26)

बुद्ध्या धृतिगृहीतया ।

(Bhagavad Gita–6.25)

आत्मसंस्थं मनः कृत्वा न किञ्चिदपि चिन्तयेत् ।।

(Bhagavad Gita–6.25)
