In this session, Swamiji speaks about the inner resources of man and the importance of knowing their power and potential. The human body is inert; it cannot generate any experience or knowledge. It is the mind that generates experiences. Spirituality is the science and art of dealing with the mind, engineering, and harnessing it.

Desire, hatred, and fear are the three strands that make up the mind. Left unchecked, they repeatedly surface, disturbing one’s peace. But man can have a peaceful and harmonious mind, without being bothered by desire, hatred, or fear. It is possible only when the power and potential of the mind is understood.

How resourceful is the mind? In sleep, we are unconscious of the body, mind, the intelligence, and the world. All the interactional impacts of the wakeful state are wiped off by the mind in sleep. It can wipe off the greatest of calamities. It is capable of generating and dissolving any number of thoughts. Every human carries such a potent, powerful, resourceful mind.

Swamiji urges listeners to delve within and understand one’s own inner resources—the mind, intelligence, and the Self. He exhorts seekers to spend time to understand the power and potential of the mind and not be victimized by it.
