In this Q & A session, Swamiji replies to questions regarding spirituality and spiritual pursuit.

Spirituality is an exploration of our own inner personality. The goal of spirituality is to know the Truth, our own real identity (I). It is beyond all concepts of the mind; It is not graspable by the mind, and intelligence. By a process of negation of all concepts (which are in the ken of the mind), one can realize the Truth.

One may hear about the Consciousness (Self) or read about it and understand what it is. But it would remain a second-hand knowledge. When the Truth is experienced, when it becomes a first-hand knowledge, it is truly known. When the Truth is finally realized, it envelops every state of being.

Spirituality introduces a wholesome, a welfare-oriented mindset in man. The mind is impelled to rise over selfish thoughts and desires and work for the greater good of the organization, or the society. The mind becomes more expansive, flexible and is ready to accept any situation.

When the senses are restrained by the mind; when the mind is guided by the intelligence and when the intelligence is anchored in the Self, our personality becomes integrated. Such an integrated state of mind is an excellent one, and it can produce excellent work in any field of life. Excellence will become a quality of our personality.
