Gurupoornima Retreat 2025

This series of talks is based on the text ‘Vijnaana Nauka’, which speaks about the Supreme Truth, and how one can attain the realization that it is our own identity. Swamiji discusses the verses in detail, drawing references from various scriptures. The seven sessions give listeners a touch of the Self within and inspires them to further introspect upon them. The concluding session is a Q & A session, where the participants receive clarifications for their spiritual queries.

The participants get an understanding that the entire Spiritual pursuit is to purify the seeker. Self-realization is not a goal, which a seeker will reach one day. It is an ongoing journey of cultivating unaffectedness, equalness, purity, expansion. By incorporating noble qualities, the personality of the
seeker undergoes a fundamental change. Every moment of the Sadhana makes the mind more expansive.

In every step of the spiritual journey, introspection is crucial. The seeker must examine every trait of the mind, every shortcoming and strive to overcome them. He must reflect whether the mind is having attachment, clinging, possessiveness, and expectations, and try to get rid of them. Most importantly, he must introspect on the Self, his own identity. By applying his intelligence, he must discriminate between what is eternal and what is ephemeral.

In conclusion, Swamiji emphasizes the importance of meditation and silent sitting, by which the mind gets converged and becomes one-pointed and focused on the goal. The aim is to get established in the Self.

Questions in the Session:
3:08 - A person having done sufficient shravana and manana but could not do much of Nididhyasana, and his body falls. What will happen to him?

13:59: While sitting in silence, thoughts are less for the first 15 or 20 minutes. Then thoughts of my spiritual sadhana come. Is it good to do manana on the Subject?

27:11 – Please talk about silent sitting? Can you explain the process of manana?

36:27 – There is so much material available in spirituality. How to navigate the huge amount of material? What to focus on?

40:43 – I understood that a seeker should practice moderation in everything. What should be the right attitude and thought when faced with a huge competition in academic or professional front?

43:59 – I intellectually understand what is real and unreal. How do I live it every moment?

52:25 – Atma is unaffected. I am able to remain unaffected by big problems, I get affected and irritated by small problems.

57:34 – Krishna speaks about moderation and restraint but he seems to have lived a life of extravagance- dancing, fighting, loving—how could he do it. Please tell us 2 or 3 qualities of Krishna?

1:04:46 - Is Vichara and manana the same?
