Detect Laziness in Oneself

  • Detect Laziness in Oneself

    Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

In this talk, Swamiji speaks about laziness. He says that the source of laziness is not the body.

In Bhagavad Gita and Uddhava Gita, Krishna spends a lot of time in explaining the three gunas, sattva, rajas, and tamas. One has to examine and assess the proportion of the three gunas in oneself.

Tendency to escape is laziness; the desire and the motivation to work is rajo guna. Trying to do work without looking for approval, with vibrant concern for everyone and everything is sattva guna. One has to detect the prominent guna in oneself.

Shlokas chanted in the talk:

Bhagavad Gita 18.39

Bhagavad Gita 3.5

Bhagavad Gita 18.22
