Knowledge Austerity

In this track, Swamiji exhorts seekers to take to the austerity of spending time devotionally, piously and with attunement with whatever he/she reads and try to understand it. Knowledge is a great austerity. It helps the seeker in bringing about sublimation, correction, fulfillment and refinement in his personality.

Knowledge is the deepest faculty and constituent in the human personality. Mundakopanishad says that Knowledge austerity is the process by which the Brahman started growing and becoming matter, energy, force, senses, mind, intelligence and ego.

यदा पञ्चावतिष्ठन्ते ज्ञानानि मनसा सह ।
बुद्धिश्च न विचेष्टते तामाहुः परमां गतिम् ।।
(Kathopanishad 2.3.10)

यस्य ज्ञानमयं तपः

तपसा चीयते ब्रह्म
