Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha

094 – Kenopanishad Day 2 | Voice of Upanishads | Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha

595 Views | 3 weeks ago

This discourse series by Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha was part of the Gurupoornima Retreat held at Narayanashrama Tapovanam, Kerala in the year 2020. In this talk, Nutan Swamiji discusses how the Shastras help us in our sadhana to realise our Real nature.

The shastras give us knowledge about the Self, which is different from everything else in the objective world. By applying our mind on it, contemplating and absorbing the deeper meaning of the statements, sattva guna increases in our being. Our being has to undergo this transformation inorder to make us a good receptacle as well as a good vehicle of the Ultimate Truth.

Swamiji also explains the difference between Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita. Bhagavad Gita deals extensively with all aspects and qualities of human personality. It is ideal for anybody working in any field or in any stage of life. Upanishads on the other hand focus on ceaseless contemplation of Brahman, by means of which our constricted identity becomes one with Universal identity. It takes away our mind from objectude and fixes it on the Subject and finally helps us transcend both!
