092 – Satyameva Jayate – Living the Truth | Voice of Upanishads | Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha

1169 Views | 1 month ago

In this satsang, Nutan Swamiji elaborates on the deeper meaning of upanishadic exhortation 'Satyameve Jayate', which infact is the motto of our nation.

What is meant by Sathyam or Truthfulness? Swamiji says the deeper meaning is to abide in our 'svabhava' - our Real nature. Every moment we are presented with two choices - 'sreyas' and 'preyas'. To have a steady anchorage in sreyas by winning over the lower tendencies, is the practical aspect of Truthfulness. It is only by living the Truth, one becomes victorious in life.

When a wise man comes to know that it is the one single Presence, which manifests as this infinite variety of objects, he revels only in that inner presence - Consciousness. From that moment, all his actions will be 'Sahaja' or natural. It will not be motivated by any desire. By constantly following the natural course or svabhava, the mind becomes more and more pure, until it becomes one with the Truth. This 'sayujya' with Truth is the pinnacle of human life!

Swamiji will be discussing 'Voice of Upanishads'. The Global Satsang will be based on Kathopanishad and Mundakopanishad. | Live Satsangs with Spiritual Masters on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at 8 pm IST/10:30 am EDT/ 10:30 pm MST.
